Frequently asked questions about company search
- How do I find a company by its company ID?
- Enter the eight-digit company ID in the search box and press Search. If the company exists in the Business Registers Agency's company register we show its registration data, legal form, address and the annual reports it has filed.
- Can I search by company name?
- Yes. Two characters of the registered business name are enough. The search returns every matching company together with its company ID, legal form and address, so you can pick the right one.
- Does company search cost anything?
- No. Search and the basic registration data are free and need no account. Only the full profiles with financial history for every year, change monitoring and API access are paid.
- Where does the data come from?
- Registration data and annual reports come from the Business Registers Agency's company register, kept by the registry courts and published through the register, and VAT numbers are verified against the European Commission's VIES system.
- Why do some companies have no financial history?
- Financial history is built from filed annual reports. A company that has never filed one — typically a newly founded company — has registration data but no financial years.
- How often is the data updated?
- Registration data is read from the state registers on every search, so it is current at that moment. Annual reports appear as companies file them and the register publishes them.
